Greetings,
We will soon have the have the opportunity to learn several line dances. We can practice our rhythm and get to dance. To make all this work, we need to follow dance floor etiquette. The dance floor should be seen as a circle going in a counter clock wise rotation. The stationary dancers should stay in the middle of the floor while dancers that travel use the outside of the circle. If the traveling dancers do a move that stops the flow, then that move is taken toward the inside of the circle.
Now to add line dancers, the room should be divided so the front half of the floor is used for line dancing and the back half of the floor used for couple dancing. To navigate the dance floor while not Let’s Dance!!! dancing, one should walk on the outside of the dance floor. Do not take food or drink across the dance floor! Dance shoes can be expensive and stepping on food or liquid can ruin them.
Also, we are fined if the room is not kept clean. We have enjoyed the Barn Dance that Nancy Morgan taught and we have plans to learn several more. We want to create as much opportunity as possible for everyone to dance.
This includes music also. If you have a specific music request, please bring the title and artist. If the D.J. has the song he will try his best to play it. Don’t forget the Chili Cook Off on March 13th. If you want to bring chili please let Gina or I know.
Everyone consider bringing your muffin tins. It is a great way to taste the full variety of chili recipes.
See you on the Dance Floor;
Kay Ford, President
