So, you think your chili is the best in the west?

 

 

WANTED: LRBC members who think their chili is hot stuff! Whether your chili makes your mouth water or your eyes water, here is your chance to compete for the title of “Best Chili” in the Little Rock Bop Club.

 

The LRBC Chili Cook-Off is Wednesday, March 11th, during our Wild West Hoe-Down at the Bess Chisum Stephens Community Center.

 

Rules:

  • CHILI WILL BE JUDGED IN THREE CATEGORIES:
    1. Traditional: made with beef; with or without beans
    2. Alternative: made with any other type of meat; or without meat
    3. Spicy Hot but tasty

  • ENTRANTS MUST HAVE THEIR CHILI AT THE Bess Chisum Stephens Community Center NO LATER THAN 6:45 P.M. ON MARCH 11th

  • JUDGING WILL BEGIN PROMPTLY AT 7:00 P.M.

  • WINNERS WILL BE ANNOUNCED DURING THE PRESIDENT ’S REMARKS AROUND 8:30 P.M.

  • CONTESTANTS MUST BRING A CROCK POT FULL OF CHILI, A LADLE OR LARGE SPOON FOR DIPPING CHILI AND AN EXTENSION CORD TO PLUG IN TO KEEP THE CHILI WARM

  • CONTEST WILL BE LIMITED TO 15 PARTICIPANTS

  • CONTESTANTS MUST NAME THEIR CHILI AND PROVIDE A SIGN INDICATING THE CHILI ’S NAME WHICH WILL BE PLACED EITHER IN FRONT OF OR BEHIND THE CHILI

Judging:

Judges will be pre-selected and will have no contact with the chili contestants. Chili will be served to the judges in 2 oz. plastic cups and they will grade on aroma, taste and appearance.

 

Event Schedule:

6:45 p.m. Challengers must have their chili set up.

7:00 p.m. Judging.

7:30 p.m. General eating and Wild West Hoe-Down.
